Trick of the Week: Jono Blythe Twisting the Aces

I'm excited to share this week's featured performance: a classic of card magic known as Twisting the Aces.


This trick is one of my personal favourites because it’s incredibly visual and happens right under the spectator’s nose. It's a hallmark of close-up magic and a wonderful example of how misdirection and subtle movements can create pure impossibility.


In the video below, you'll see me take the four Aces and, one by one, cause them to mysteriously turn face up with just a simple twist of the packet. The trick builds to the climax where all four Aces—Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs—are shown to have defied logic.
